Back Pain Treatment in Lowestoft
Helping you get back to doing the things you love.

When your back hurts, life gets smaller
Back pain has a way of changing everyday life without you even noticing. You stop bending to pick things up. You think twice before gardening. Long drives become uncomfortable and getting out of bed takes a little longer each morning.
Whether your pain started after lifting something awkward, decorating, gardening, working at a desk or simply appeared for no obvious reason, you’re not alone. Back pain is one of the most common reasons people visit Total Balance Wellbeing Centre.
Our role isn’t simply to treat your back. It’s to understand why it’s hurting, explain what we find in plain English and help you move with greater comfort and confidence.

Understanding what’s really happening
Your spine, muscles, joints and nerves all work together every day. When one part isn’t moving as well as it should, other areas often work harder to compensate.
Many episodes of back pain are linked to everyday habits rather than serious injury. Long periods of sitting, repetitive lifting, reduced movement, poor posture and muscular tension can all contribute.
Rather than concentrating only on where it hurts, we’ll assess how your whole body is moving. Sometimes your hips, posture or even your feet may be influencing what’s happening.

Finding the right approach
Every treatment plan is individual.
Following your assessment we may recommend chiropractic care to improve joint movement, osteomyology techniques to ease muscular restriction, massage therapy to reduce tension or simple rehabilitation exercises to support your recovery.
Where appropriate we may also carry out a 3D Foot Scan to understand how your posture and foot mechanics could be affecting your back.
We’ll always explain why we’re recommending a particular approach before treatment begins.

What happens at your first appointment?
It all starts with a chat. During your consultation, we’ll take time to understand your symptoms, when they began, what makes them better or worse, and how they’re affecting your everyday life. We’ll then carry out a comprehensive head-to-toe assessment to uncover what’s really going on.
Once we’ve carefully reviewed everything, we’ll invite you back for a follow-up appointment. We’ll explain our findings in plain English, answer any questions you have, and discuss the best way forward. If treatment is appropriate, we can often get started there and then.
Small changes often make a big difference
Keeping gently active, changing position regularly, improving your workstation and following personalised exercises can all support recovery.
We’ll provide advice that’s relevant to your lifestyle rather than generic exercises copied from the internet.
When should you seek urgent medical advice?
Seek urgent medical attention if your back pain is accompanied by loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness around the groin or buttocks, significant leg weakness, unexplained fever, major trauma or rapidly worsening symptoms.
