Migraine Support in Lowestoft

When migraines start dictating your life
A migraine can turn an ordinary day into one that feels impossible. Work, family time, social plans and even bright lights or everyday noise can suddenly become overwhelming.
While medication is an important part of migraine management for many people, some people also experience physical tension around the neck and shoulders that may contribute to how they feel.
At Total Balance Wellbeing Centre we’ll take time to understand your symptoms and determine whether a musculoskeletal assessment could play a supportive role alongside your existing medical care.

Understanding migraines
Migraines are a complex neurological condition with many possible triggers. Stress, hormonal changes, dehydration, poor sleep and certain foods can all play a part.
For some individuals, reduced movement through the neck, muscle tension or poor posture may also contribute to symptoms. Understanding your personal pattern of triggers is an important step towards managing migraines more effectively.

Finding the right approach
Where appropriate, your personalised care may include gentle chiropractic treatment, osteomyology techniques, massage therapy and practical advice aimed at reducing physical tension.
Our focus is always on helping you understand your symptoms and supporting your overall wellbeing. We’ll explain every recommendation clearly so you can make informed decisions about your care.

Your first appointment
No two people are the same, so every assessment begins with listening. We’ll discuss your symptoms, how they started, what affects them, and how they’re influencing your daily life. From there, we’ll complete a thorough top-to-toe assessment to understand the root of the problem.
At your follow-up appointment, we’ll talk you through everything we’ve found, explain what it means, and help you decide on the most suitable next steps. If treatment is recommended, we’ll often be able to begin immediately.
Supporting yourself between appointments
• Stay well hydrated.
• Aim for a consistent sleep routine.
• Take regular breaks from prolonged screen use.
• Keep a diary to identify possible migraine triggers.
• Manage stress where possible.
• Continue following any medication advice from your GP or specialist.
When should you seek urgent medical advice?
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience a sudden severe headache unlike anything before, headaches following a head injury, weakness, confusion, difficulty speaking, seizures, persistent vomiting or significant changes to your vision.
